| Foreground Session | One instance of a User running the app for at least one second where it is visible on screen. |
| Background Session | A Session generated while the App runs in the background without being visible on screen (e.g., location tracking, background sync, push handling). |
| Stitched Session (Billable Session) | The unit of billable usage. A Stitched Session groups consecutive foreground Sessions of the same User into a single billable session: if a new Session starts within the session timeout (30 minutes by default) of the User's last foreground activity, it is stitched into the current Stitched Session; otherwise, it starts a new Stitched Session. Only foreground Sessions count toward Stitched Sessions. |
| SDK (Software Development Kit) | The Luciq library you embed in your App to collect telemetry such as crashes, performance data, and user feedback. |
| Telemetry | Data automatically sent from the SDK to Luciq, including session counts, crashes, and performance metrics. |
| Trace | A timed performance span such as a screen load or network call. |

#### 1) What You Are Buying?

This section summarizes what your license includes and how usage is measured. As part of your license, you purchase a **contracted number of Stitched Sessions per month** for any of the following products:

1. Bug Reporting
2. Crash Reporting
3. Application Performance Monitoring (APM)
4. Session Replay
5. Surveys
6. Rollout management
7. App Ratings and Reviews

#### 2) Stitched Session Definitions and Entitlements

Here's how we define and measure usage across users and sessions, and how that translates into your entitlements.

#### How we calculate Stitched Sessions?

* **Pre-purchase:** We use third-party app-store analytics (e.g., Sensor Tower) to estimate your monthly session volume and determine the appropriate Stitched Session tier.
* **Post-onboarding:** We use Luciq SDK telemetry from your app to measure your actual Stitched Sessions.

Stitching is performed by the SDK: consecutive foreground sessions separated by less than the session timeout (30 minutes by default) are merged into one Stitched Session. Your monthly billable usage is the count of Stitched Sessions across all your Apps.

#### Foreground and Background Sessions

Your license includes capture of all foreground sessions, which count toward your Stitched Sessions. Background session capture is included only when listed on your Order Form — it is priced separately and is not part of the standard license.

#### 3) Team Members and Apps Limits

Legacy pricing includes a **limit on the number of team members** and a **limit on the number of Apps**, both defined per customer in your Order Form. You may add additional members or Apps beyond your contracted limits for a fee at any time.

#### 4) Platform Entitlements

Purchase of the Luciq Platform entitles you to:

* Apps up to your contracted limit (defined per customer)
* Unlimited available integrations

#### 5) Usage Entitlements

{% hint style="info" %}

* This section defines what each product includes and the limits associated with them. You only receive access to products listed on your Order Form.
* If your Order Form specifies different retention for any product, your Order Form takes precedence.
* Need longer retention? Data retention can be extended by request. Please [contact our Sales team](https://www.luciq.ai/request-demo).
  {% endhint %}

#### Standard data retention

Use this section as the default retention snapshot for this version. The detailed per-product retention remains listed under each product below.

| Event allowance | Unlimited traces (app launches, screens, networks, hangs, screen rendering).Ingest shares the 2,000,000 requests/min/App pool with other non-critical events. |
| Data retention  | 8 Weeks                                                                                                                                                       |
| APM Sync timing | Session data is synced every 6 hours, but only after the user reopens the app. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.luciq.ai/organization-settings/billing/license-entitlements-and-restrictions/legacy-license-entitlements-and-restrictions.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
